The website design for Creative Memories Children's Learning Center required a clean, simple interface that faithfully depicts the services offered. The multiple hues and shapes used throughout the site reflect the colorful, playful logo. A brainaxle collaborative project.

Vintage Science Fiction Calendar


The assignment was to create a non-conventional calendar based off a subculture of choice. The final design focused on vintage science fiction, drawing from imagery of 1930s-1970s science fiction book and pulp magazine illustration. This is carried out using three PMS spot colors to keep overall unified color scheme, stylized illustration, and typography.
Prestigious School History Book

Kingswood School Cranbrook was designed in the 1930s by a world renowned architect. I created a front cover, table of contents, and two chapter spreads using provided text and images. The typography and layout reflect the Modernist aesthetic of the time with a mix of elegance.
The American Surveyor Magazine Spreads

The American Surveyor is a monthly magazine presenting various articles on surveying technology, methods, history, and project features. The opening spreads are given special imagery to introduce the reader into the story while utilizing the same set of typefaces to unify all features in each issue.

The Cheese Aficionado is the newsletter for connoisseurs of all things related to cheese. Complimentary serif and sans serif typefaces set the elegant tone for both display and copy. Content includes cheese and wine pairing, spotlights, editorial, events, and general information of cheese-related news. Light and sophisticated colors give the newsletter a savory warmth.

925 Furniture

The project was an entry into the Art Director’s Club of Metropolitan Washington (ADCMW) annual design competition, The Real Show. The logo and stationary design utilizes warm browns to reflect the desirability for sturdy, contemporary, and comfortable image for 925 Furniture.
Happenstance Café
In designing a logo for a small town local café, consideration for keeping a down-to-earth and friendly tone were carried out. The hand done type and drawn icons emphasize the casual atmosphere along with the warm, earthy tones.

Jump: Natural Flavored Lime Soda

Designing a package for a new lime soda, Jump comes as a glass bottle six-pack. The monochromatic scheme and lime halves help to strongly convey the drink's lime taste and natural flavor. Jump's angular logo gives the beverage a more dynamic, fresh appeal.

The linear, organic curves of the Art Nouveau movement were inspiration for the design of a skateboard deck. Instead of using specific imagery, a group of lines and shapes create natural forms and fluid lines. The warm brown and lush greens further conjure up a natural feel.

The Russian folk tale of Vasilissa and Baba Yaga was a choice for a short story animation project using Adobe Flash. The stylized rendering of the scenery and characters along with the ambient soundtrack helps set the stage for a simplified retelling of an ancient story.
Andy Warhol/Brian Eno Animated Quote
After choosing a quote by Andy Warhol to create a short animation for, the decision was made to use the song "Backwater" by Brian Eno to convey the unusual, trivial happenings that make people world renowned. The use of purely typographic imagery connects the lyrics with the narrative for a quirky by effective touch.
